The museum houses the conspicuous collection belonging to Bishop Mons. Giuseppe Battaglia, a keen art enthusiast who, during his lifetime, has mainly collected paintings with a local or Lombardy origin, or those of the Diocese and other Diocesan Ecclesiastical Organizations.
